In Whippy, you can create sophisticated automations for your sequences with multiple steps and actions. This guide will walk you through the process of adding and configuring automations to your sequence.
1. Go to Sequences
Access the Sequences page through the website or by using this direct link: https://app.whippy.co/sequences
2. Select the Desired Sequence (or Create a New One)
Choose the sequence with the created step you want to automate from the list. If you haven’t created a sequence, click the "Create Sequence" button and set up the basic details before proceeding.
3. Click the "Add Trigger" Button
To begin setting up your automation, click the "Add Trigger" button within your selected sequence.
4. Choose the Trigger Type
Select a Trigger Type for the automation. The trigger determines the condition under which the sequence action will be executed.
For this example, we will select the Link Trigger.
💡Available triggers include:
Keyword Trigger (When a contact responds with a keyword…)
Response Trigger (When a contact responds to a message…)
Link Trigger (When a contact clicks on a message link…)
5. Select Action Type from the List
Choose an action type to execute when the selected trigger condition is met.
For this example, we will select Send Message.
💡Available actions include:
Send Message
Add Tags to Contact
Remove Tags from Contact
Assign User
Unassign Conversation
Opt Contacts In/Out
Notify Users
Add/Remove from Sequence
Move Sequence Step
Update Conversation Status
Send Email
6. Enter the Auto-Response Message and Save the Trigger
Compose the auto-response message for the selected action and save the trigger.
7. Let’s Add One More Action
To add another action to your sequence automation, click the "Add Action" button. This allows you to layer multiple actions for greater flexibility and functionality.
8. Select a New Action Type
From the available actions, choose a new action type. In this example, we’ll select Assign User.
9. Configure the Action and Save It
Specify the parameters for the new action (e.g., choose a user to assign). Once configured, click the Save Action button.
10. Done!
You’ve now created a sequence with multiple and triggers. You can continue to build out your automation by adding more actions and customizing them to meet your needs.
