Why it matters
Exporting conversations allows you to store communication records outside Whippy for analysis, auditing, or sharing with team members and clients. You can download entire conversations or export messages from a specific timeframe for targeted insights.
Key Concepts
Export Conversation: The action of downloading a conversation as a file for offline access or reporting.
Export Format: You can export as PDF (formatted for easy viewing) or CSV (for data analysis or spreadsheet use).
Date Range Filter: Defines the portion of a conversation you want to export — either the full thread or a specific time window.
Step-by-Step: Export a Conversation
Open your Omnichannel Inbox.
Click this link to go directly to your Inbox.
Locate the conversation you want to export.
Use the search bar at the top or scroll through your list of conversations.
Click the ⋯ icon in the upper-right corner of the conversation view.
This opens a menu of available actions.
Select Export Conversation from the menu.
Choose your export format.
In the modal that appears, select PDF or CSV from the first dropdown.
PDF: Best for sharing or printing.
CSV: Best for sorting, filtering, or data analysis.
Define your export range:
If you want to export the entire conversation, you don’t need to change the Export From field — it’s pre-set to export all messages by default.
If you want to export a specific date range, click the Export From field to open the date picker, or choose from predefined options such as:
Today
Yesterday
Past Week
Past 4 Weeks
Past 12 Weeks
Past 6 Months
Past 12 Months
Confirm the export.
Your file will download automatically once the export is complete.
