Pause and Resume Campaigns in Whippy

Temporarily stop and restart campaigns that are sending in batches without cancelling them.

Why it matters

When running batch-sent campaigns, you may need to pause delivery to adjust settings, prevent oversending, manage reply volume, or temporarily stop outreach. The pause and resume controls give you full flexibility without losing campaign progress.

Key Concepts

Batch sending: A delivery method where your campaign sends messages in scheduled batches rather than all at once.

Pause campaign: Temporarily halts the sending of remaining batches. Messages already sent are unaffected.

Resume campaign: Restarts batch sending from the point where it was paused.

Active batch status: Indicates that a campaign is currently sending messages in intervals.

Step-by-Step: Pause and Resume a Campaign

  1. Go to Campaigns.

    Navigate to the Campaigns page to view all ongoing and completed campaigns.

  2. Select a campaign with batch sending in progress.

    Look for a campaign showing active batch sending status and click to open it.

  3. Pause the campaign.

    Click the Pause button in the top-right corner of the campaign view.

    Pausing does not cancel the campaign; it only stops future batches from sending.

  4. Resume the campaign.

    When you're ready to continue, click the Play button that replaces the pause button.

    Batch sending will resume from where it stopped.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Use pause when you need to adjust audience targeting or scheduling before remaining batches send.

  • Pause campaigns if replies become too frequent for your team to handle in real time.

  • Resume only after confirming all edits and settings are correct, as new batches will send immediately.

  • Monitor paused campaigns to ensure they are resumed before any time-sensitive deadlines.
