Why it matters

Campaigns often need adjustments after they’re created. You may want to refine the message, update your audience, change the schedule, or modify automations. Whippy allows you to edit campaigns safely while maintaining full control of what gets sent and when.

Key Concepts

Draft campaign: A campaign that has been created but not yet sent. Drafts can be edited freely.

Scheduled campaign: A campaign set to send at a later time. Most settings can still be updated until the scheduled send time.

Editable sections: Areas of a campaign that can be changed before sending, including Basic Info, Audience, Message, Schedule & Settings, and Automations.

Locked settings: Some campaign details may no longer be editable after a campaign has started sending.

Step-by-Step: Edit a Campaign After Creation

  1. Go to Campaigns.

Navigate to the Campaigns page and locate the campaign you want to update.

  2. Open the campaign.

Click on the campaign name to open the campaign editor.

  3. Edit Basic Info (optional).

Update the campaign name or change the sending channel if it has not been used yet.

  4. Edit the Audience section.

    • Add or remove individual contacts

    • Include or exclude lists, tags, or segments

    • Apply quick filters or advanced filters

    • Update exclusion toggles such as quiet hours or recent-contact exclusions

  5. Edit the Message section.

Update the message body, add attachments, insert variables, apply templates, or enable signatures.

  6. Edit Schedule & Settings.

    • Adjust scheduled date, time, and timezone

    • Turn batch sending on or off

    • Update recurring schedule settings

    • Modify campaign sending restrictions such as quiet hours or weekend pausing

    • Adjust link tracking settings

  7. Edit Automations.

Add, remove, or modify automation triggers such as keyword triggers, response triggers, link click triggers, or call triggers.

  8. Save your changes.

Click Save to apply updates. Whippy will confirm updates with a success banner.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Review your audience carefully after making edits, especially when adding or removing lists or applying filters.

  • If your campaign is scheduled, recheck the send time after editing schedule settings.

  • Avoid modifying automations just before sending unless necessary; ensure triggers behave as expected.

  • For major message edits, send a test message to preview formatting.

  • If you duplicate campaigns often, standardise naming conventions to avoid confusion during editing.
