Why it matters
Campaigns often need adjustments after they’re created. You may want to refine the message, update your audience, change the schedule, or modify automations. Whippy allows you to edit campaigns safely while maintaining full control of what gets sent and when.
Key Concepts
Draft campaign: A campaign that has been created but not yet sent. Drafts can be edited freely.
Scheduled campaign: A campaign set to send at a later time. Most settings can still be updated until the scheduled send time.
Editable sections: Areas of a campaign that can be changed before sending, including Basic Info, Audience, Message, Schedule & Settings, and Automations.
Locked settings: Some campaign details may no longer be editable after a campaign has started sending.

Tips and Best Practices
Review your audience carefully after making edits, especially when adding or removing lists or applying filters.
If your campaign is scheduled, recheck the send time after editing schedule settings.
Avoid modifying automations just before sending unless necessary; ensure triggers behave as expected.
For major message edits, send a test message to preview formatting.
If you duplicate campaigns often, standardise naming conventions to avoid confusion during editing.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Possible Cause | Fix |
Certain fields cannot be edited | Campaign has already begun sending or is completed | Only draft and scheduled campaigns can be fully edited. |
Audience changes not saving | Required fields missing or invalid filter logic | Confirm all filters and selections are valid before saving. |
Message won’t update | Missing required content or unsupported formatting | Ensure message field is complete and attachments meet requirements. |
Schedule cannot be adjusted | Campaign is already in progress | Pause batch sending (if enabled) or create a new campaign if changes are critical. |
