Your email address is your main login to Wickie, and the best practice is to keep using the same one for as long as possible — it's simpler, safer, and avoids any disruption. But life happens: you change jobs, switch providers, or lose access to an old inbox. When that happens, here's how to change the email on your Wickie account.
Before you start
You'll need to be logged in to your Wickie account, either on the web platform or in the app.
Have your 2FA method ready: either your authenticator app or the phone number you registered with Wickie (for SMS codes).
Make sure you can actually open the new inbox — you'll need to click a confirmation link sent there.
On the Wickie web platform
Log in to your account at wickie.io.
Click Settings.
Find the Contact Information section and click the pencil icon in the top-right of it.
In the Add email line, type your new email address and click the + icon on the right.
Enter your 2FA code (from your authenticator app or received by SMS, depending on which you use).
Open the inbox of the new email address and click the confirmation link.
In the Wickie app
Open the Wickie app and log in.
Tap Explore, then Profile.
Scroll to the Contact Information section.
Tap the + icon to add a new email.
Enter the new email address.
Enter your 2FA code (from your authenticator app or received by SMS).
Tap Save, then open the new inbox and confirm.
Set the new email as your default
Adding the email isn't enough on its own — to actually log in with it, you have to make it your default address.
On the web: find the new email in the Contact Information section and click Make default.
In the app: tap on the email you want to use, then tap Set email as default.
You'll need to confirm this change with your 2FA code as well.
⚠️ Important: changing your email ≠ changing where we contact you
Changing your email address only updates your login method — it doesn't change the address where Wickie sends account communications.
If you want us to reach you at the new address too, send a request from inside your account to support@wickie.io and we'll update it on our side.
A note on old email addresses
For security reasons, Wickie doesn't remove old email addresses from accounts. They stay associated with your account but become inactive for login once you set a new default — there's no impact on functionality.
Need help?
If you get stuck or can't complete 2FA, reach out through live support in the Wickie app or on the Wickie web platform at wickie.io, or email support@wickie.io.
