Smart Upsell Pop-up uses targeted pop-ups at key moments in the shopper's journey to encourage additional purchases and increase Average Order Value (AOV).
The feature is inactive by default. You can enable it from the Wiser admin and then activate the required app embed in your Shopify Theme Editor.
Step 1: Enable Smart Upsell Pop-up
In the Wiser admin, go to Recommendations and select Smart Upsell Pop-up.
Click Enable.
Wiser will redirect you to the Shopify Theme Editor.
Step 2: Enable Smart Upsell Popups in the Theme Editor
In the Shopify Theme Editor, open App embeds.
Find Smart Upsell Popups.
Enable the toggle.
Click Save.
Step 3: Create a New Pop-up
Go back to the Smart Upsell Pop-up section in the Wiser admin.
Click Create New Pop-up.
Continue with the available settings to configure your pop-up.
Step 4: Configure the Pop-up
Global Settings
Use the Global settings to configure how and when the pop-up appears.
Campaign Name
Enter a name for your campaign.
This name is for internal use only and helps you identify the campaign in your Wiser admin.
Recommended Page
Select the page where you want the pop-up to appear.
You can select All to display the pop-up across your store or choose the available page options.
Select Product Recommendation Type
Choose the type of products you want to display in the pop-up.
For example, you can select New Arrivals,Top Selling, Trending etc
Trigger & Display
Configure when and where the pop-up should appear.
Trigger Type
Select the action that triggers the pop-up:
On Page Landing – Displays the pop-up when the customer lands on the page.
On Click – Displays the pop-up when the customer clicks the configured trigger.
Exit Intent – Displays the pop-up when the customer is about to leave the page.
Popup Position
Choose where the pop-up should appear on the page.
For example, you can position the pop-up in the Center.
Total Products Display
Set the number of products you want to display inside the pop-up.
Display Period
Set when the campaign should be active.
Start Date
Select the date when the pop-up campaign should start displaying.
End Date
Select the date when the pop-up campaign should stop displaying.
When User Closes the Popup
Set how long Wiser should wait before displaying the pop-up again after a customer closes it.
For example, if you set this to 1 Second, the pop-up can be displayed again after the specified duration.
Duration Unit
Select the unit used for the duration, such as Seconds.
Customize the Pop-up
The Customize section allows you to control the appearance of different elements within the pop-up.
Heading
Customize the heading displayed at the top of the pop-up, including its available text and styling options.
Button
Customize the button displayed within the pop-up, including its text and appearance.
Price
Configure how product prices are displayed in the pop-up.
Product Image
Customize the appearance and display of product images.
Product Reviews
Choose how product review information is displayed within the pop-up.
Out Of Stock
Configure how out-of-stock products are handled or displayed in the pop-up.
Add Custom CSS
Add custom CSS to further customize the appearance of the Smart Upsell Pop-up and match it with your store's design.
Step 5: Save Your Pop-up
After configuring the Global and Customize settings, save your campaign.
Your Smart Upsell Pop-up is now configured and ready to display on your store based on the settings you selected.
Step 6: View Your Storefront
Once you have saved your pop-up, open your storefront and visit the page where you configured the pop-up.
Check that the pop-up appears as expected and that the recommended products, positioning, and design are displayed correctly.
If you made any changes, save them in the Wiser admin and refresh your storefront to view the updates.
