From the Guide/Grade page you can view your students' writing in real time. Using the instant messaging feature you can send guidance and converse with students quickly to support them.

  1. Go to the 'My Assignments' page and click the assignment.

  2. Click on the class, or choose the 'Students Working' button in the left menu to see all students currently drafting their work.

  3. From the assignment dashboard, click the 'Guide/Grade' tab in the left.

  4. You can conference with any student, whether they have already submitted or are working now. Check the student's status to the right of their name.

  5. If available, you can click the circle icon to request AI feedback for writing or edit the existing AI comment.

Once the AI comment loads you can edit the comment using the pencil icon.

  6. To write a new message from scratch, click the "Send a message to..." box below the student's writing.

  7. Type your message. You can add a voice note, use saved messages, and use other formatting options. When you are ready to send hit the Return button or the send icon.

  8. The student will see an alert in their top right corner. They will also see a preview of the comment when they click on the assignment.

  9. While writing, the message will show below their text box. Students can type or record a response for the teacher.
