Students' writing is saved automatically as they write, so they don't need to save their work. Students can follow these directions to view or restore their previous writing.

On this page:

Viewing Past Revisions (Submitted Writing)

1. Students can view their past submitted writing for an assignment by clicking the 'Read & Write' section of the assignment.

2. Then, click the 'Past Feedback' button.

3. Review the current writing and previous writing. See any additions or deletions, as well as feedback on the rubric items.

Viewing Draft History (Writable Text Editor)

Students can also view their draft history in case they accidentally deleted their writing, or want to see a previous version. Writable automatically saves student writing as they draft.

Note: If students are writing in an embedded Google Doc, their writing will be saved in the Google Doc. They can use the Google tools to view their draft history.

1. Students can view their past submitted writing for an assignment by clicking the 'Read & Write' section of the assignment.

2. In the text editor, click the menu icon as highlighted with the arrow below. Then click the clock icon to open the draft history.

3. Use the arrows to see the saved drafts, or click to dropdown all versions. To restore a previous draft, click the 'Restore Version' button in the bottom corner.
