What Notifications Do Your Students Receive?
Your students always control the email notifications they receive - this is important so they can stay informed and connected without feeling overwhelmed.
Students can choose exactly which notifications they want to receive and how often they receive them. These settings allow each student to create a notification experience that supports their learning and participation in the community.
Students can manage notifications for:
Direct Messages — choose whether to receive an email when someone sends them a direct message
Forum Spaces — choose whether to receive notifications for activity in each forum space they’re part of, and how often those notifications are bundled and sent
These settings allow students to stay connected to the conversations and messages that matter to them, while minimizing unnecessary notifications.
How Students Can Customize Their Notifications
When your student clicks on their Profile Icon, they'll see an option for Notifications:
Clicking on this will take them to a modal where they can customize their preferences.
They can turn email notifications for Direct Messages on or off here:
They can also select their notification preferences for each Forum space that they have access to:
Once they click on a Forum space, they'll see a list of options for how often they want to receive a bundle of email notifications for that space (Never, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly):
The student should save their preferences by clicking the "Save Changes" button and they are good to go.
There is also a quick option for the student to turn off ALL notifications by selecting the button that says "Turn off all notifications"
