Testing a dummy return ensures your return process works smoothly and aligns with your brand. Create a test order to review your flow after onboarding or after making changes to review the customer experience.
During the test flow, pay close attention to the following:
Refund deduction rules and how they are working.
Download the test label generated.
Check the email template received.
Following these steps to test the process.
Create a test dummy order.
Use your Shopify or Centra store to create a dummy order.
Include 3–4 items to test different scenarios, such as refunds, exchanges, and store credits.
To test the exchange flow, ensure the order value is at least 1 $/€/SEK.
Avoid using Gift Cards for test order.
Mark the order as "fulfilled" (FR: traitee) in Shopify or "closed" in Centra. It won't be imported into yayloh if you don't do this.

Register the test return.
Go to your Digital Return Form and use the dummy order ID and email to enter the form.
Select all the return options you want to test (e.g., return reasons, comments, images).
Submit the request.
Monitor the customer interface, branding, and page setup.
Once you submit the request, check the email ID of the return request for confirmation notification and a shipping label (if applicable).
Allow 5–30 minutes for the order to import into yayloh for request creation. You can search for the order in yayloh to ensure it is imported. If you can't find the order, it's not imported yet.
Process the return
a. Find the test return request and mark in-progress
Go to your yayloh 'Home page' (Dashboard).
Type in the dummy order number in the 'Search bar' at the top of the page and click enter.
Select the order from the drop-down.
Check the order & click on the green 'Make in progress' button.
b. Process test refundOpen the order page as mentioned before.
Alternatively, find it in the 'In progress' tab.
Check that 'Refund money' is selected in the drop down and click 'Confirm' next to it.
Check the amount to be refunded.
Click Apply.
Click 'OK' in the pop-up window.
Test refund is processed.
Verify refund
a. Check that the test order has been refunded in Shopify or Centra
b. Check the history of transactions in yayloh
One can access the history of transactions through the order page once the order is processed.
Search for the test order with order number and go to 'Order' page.
On the left hand side, under order and customer details, find the "History of transactions" button.
Click this button to open the history of transactions.
The history of transactions shows the past updates regarding the refund process. Such as the customer support agent responsible for the order, the date when the refund was processed, the amount, store credit value, other products processed, etc. It also shows more information about the refund amount.
