Guide to Blocking Individual Products or Categories from Returns, Exchanges, or Claims in yayloh

“Blocked returns” allows you to block the return of individual products or products belonging to specific categories. If a category is marked blocked, customers cannot register a return for any products in that category via the return form. Categories and collections are imported from your OMS system (Shopify, Centra, or WooCommerce).

You will find this setting page in setting > blocked returns. Only users with admin permissions can access this page.

Tip: To multiple individual products from different collections or certain SKU's, you can create a custom category locally in yayloh and block that category using custom category option - See how.

How to block individual products?

For large catalogs, loading may take a few minutes.

  1. Open the Products tab.

  2. Type the name and click 'Search' for individual products

  3. Alternatively, filter by category, tag, or collection name.

  4. Toggle the switch next to a product to block or unblock it. The page will display a message showing whether the item is blocked or unblocked.

How to block complete categories?

  1. Open the category tab

  2. Search for the category, tag, or collection you want to block.

  3. Toggle the switch on the right to block the return for that category.

Customize return form for blocked products

Once returns are blocked customize the message for your end customer’s view when they try to return a product from a blocked category.

To customize the message follow the steps:

  1. Open yayloh dashboard

  2. Go to Setting>>Text & Translation

  3. Fill in a dummy order number and email ID to access the items page.

  4. Toggle 'Edit text copy'

  5. Eid the blocked text message to let your customer know the product cannot be returned. Keep in mind the word collection is a dynamic parameter to display either the product name or it's collection to the customer. You can consider forming you message accordingly.

  6. When filling out a return form customers will see the message you write here. Ex. “You cannot return this item as it belongs to the following collection - socks"
