Use Source Tracker to understand which domains and pages are being cited across the AI responses Yetify tracks.
It helps you see where cited information is coming from, how often AI platforms use your own website as a source, and which domains are shaping the answers around your brand and market.
Review your citation overview
At the top of Source Tracker, you can review citation activity for the selected period:
Total citations — the number of source-in-response citations recorded across tracked AI responses.
Your citation share — the percentage of tracked responses that cite your brand’s own website.
Your cited pages — the number of unique URLs from your brand’s domain that have been cited.
Use the date range and available filters to adjust the data you’re reviewing.
How citations are counted
A citation is a source that the AI platform reports using to produce its response.
Links that simply appear in the answer text are not counted unless the platform identifies them as a source.
Each source is counted once per response:
The same URL cited in different responses counts separately.
The same URL appearing more than once in a single response counts once.
Different URLs from the same domain are counted separately.
This means Total citations represents the number of source-and-response combinations recorded by Yetify.
Understand your citation share
Your citation share shows how often your own website is used as a source across tracked AI responses.
Your citation share = responses citing your brand’s website ÷ all tracked responses × 100
For example, if your website is cited in 20 out of 100 tracked responses, your citation share is 20%.
This is a share of responses, not a share of total citations.
A higher citation share means AI platforms are using your own content more often as a source when answering the prompts you track.
Understand where cited sources come from
Source Breakdown groups cited sources by type.
Sources can be classified as:
Earned — press, news, industry publications, and editorial coverage.
Competitor — domains belonging to competitors tracked for your brand.
Owned — your brand’s own domain and its subdomains.
Social — sources such as LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube, X, Facebook, or TikTok.
Paid — sponsored content, advertising, or affiliate sources.
Aggregated — search engines, aggregators, directories, and listing sites.
Other — sources that cannot be classified into one of the categories above.
A source can be classified differently for different brands. For example, a domain may be a Competitor source for one brand and an Earned source for another.
Explore content types
Content type shows what kinds of pages are being cited by AI platforms.
Content can be classified as:
Listicle

Track citation share over time
Citation share trend compares the six most-cited domains across the selected period.
The same domains remain in the chart throughout the period, making it easier to see whether their share of citations is increasing or decreasing over time.
Each point represents that domain’s citations as a share of all citations recorded during the same period.
If no citations are recorded for a period, Yetify shows no value rather than displaying 0.
Explore domains and URLs
Use the Domain and URL tabs to explore cited sources in more detail.
Key metrics include:
Coverage — the source’s citations as a share of all tracked responses in the selected period.
Usage Count — the total number of times the source was cited.
Prompts — the number of distinct prompts that produced a response citing that source.
Visibility — among responses citing that source, the share that also mentioned your brand.
Coverage shows how broadly a source appears across your tracked responses, while Usage Count shows how frequently it is cited.
Use Search to find a specific source and the available sorting options to explore the data.
