Sometimes, you may want to switch to a different Instories plan or change your current subscription.
Since subscriptions are processed by app stores, changing plans cannot always be done by clicking a single button. In some cases, you need to cancel your subscription first, wait for the current period to end, or request a refund from the store.
Below, you’ll find step-by-step scenarios for the most common cases. Simply pick the one that matches your situation (yearly → monthly, monthly → yearly, Pro → AI MAX, or AI MAX → Pro).
Changing Your Plan from Yearly to Monthly
First, cancel your yearly subscription.
If the refund is approved, you can purchase a monthly plan in the app.
To do this, open the app → tap the menu (three lines) in the top left → My Account.
👉 Before You Switch: We usually recommend keeping the yearly plan. It comes with a built-in discount compared to paying monthly. In some regions, this discount can be up to about 60% over the year, depending on store, currency, and local pricing.
Changing Your Plan from Monthly to Yearly
Cancel your monthly subscription first (see instructions here).
Your subscription will remain active until the end of the paid period.
Once it expires, you can buy the yearly plan in the app.
To do this, open the app → tap the menu (three lines) in the top left → My Account.
Upgrading from Pro to AI MAX
Start using any AI tool (e.g., Instant Reels Maker).
Continue through the paywall.
On the AI MAX package screen, choose the yearly or monthly subscription and see the price.
You’ll be charged the full AI MAX price, but don’t worry, the App Store will automatically refund the unused portion of your Pro subscription within a few days.
Changing a Subscription from AI MAX to Pro

👉 Please Note: When you upgrade to AI MAX, your Pro subscription is automatically canceled and refunded by the App Store. You can confirm this at purchases.instories.com. Simply look for the “Refunded” status next to your Pro payment.
Here’s how you can return to the Pro level subscription:
If you have a monthly AI MAX subscription:
Cancel it and wait until the paid period ends.
Then, purchase the Pro subscription again in the app (via My Account).
If you have a yearly AI MAX subscription:
Cancel it and request a refund (see instructions here).
When approved, you can buy the Pro subscription again in the app (via My Account).
