How to activate a gift card if subscription is still active?

If the recipient of your gift card already has an active subscription, they’ll need to complete the following steps first:

Cancel the automatic renewal of their subscription
Their current subscription will remain active until the end of the paid period
Wait until their current subscription period ends
Then open the gift card link and activate it
