YourKind gives you full control over refunds. You can issue a refund to any ticket holder directly from your dashboard, no need to contact YourKind support.
Please note that refunds on YourKind are full refunds only. You cannot partially refund an order — it's all or nothing. The refund amount will be the ticket price minus YourKind's service fee, which is non-refundable.
How to Issue a Refund
Go to your Dashboard and select the event.
Click Orders in the left menu.
Find the order you want to refund. You can search by name, email, or order number.
Click on the order to open the order details.
Click Refund.
Confirm the refund.
ℹ️ Note
You'll need to have enough available balance in your YourKind account to cover the refund. If you don't have sufficient balance, contact YourKind support and we'll arrange for you to send the funds back so we can process the refund on your behalf.
Refund Processing Time
Once you issue a refund, YourKind will process it within 48 hours. The ticket purchaser will receive an email confirming that their refund is on its way.
After we process the refund, it can take an additional 5–7 business days for the funds to appear back in the attendee's account, depending on their bank.
Things to Know
Refunds can only be issued by the event organiser (you), not by attendees directly.
Refunds are full refunds only — partial refunds are not available.
YourKind's service fee is non-refundable. The attendee will receive the ticket price minus our fee.
Refunded tickets are automatically voided and will not scan at check-in.
You can view all refunded orders in your Orders > Refunds section.
A Note on Chargebacks
If an attendee disputes a charge with their bank instead of requesting a refund from you, this is known as a chargeback. Chargebacks incur an additional dispute fee charged by the payment processor, which is separate from the ticket price.
Where possible, it's better to get ahead of potential disputes by issuing a refund proactively rather than waiting for a chargeback to come through. This avoids the extra fee and keeps things simple for everyone involved.
If you do receive a chargeback that you believe is fraudulent (sometimes called "friendly fraud"), YourKind will always assist you in fighting the dispute. However, the final decision rests with the attendee's bank, so the outcome cannot be guaranteed.
⚠️ Caution
Chargebacks come with an additional dispute fee from the payment processor. Whenever you can, issue a refund directly rather than risk a chargeback — it's faster, cheaper, and avoids unnecessary complications.
💡 Tip
If an attendee contacts you requesting a refund, you can handle it yourself in seconds from the Orders page. No back-and-forth with a support team required.
