My AI Box does not connect to my car's CarPlay

If your AI Box does not connect to your vehicle's CarPlay, follow these steps:

Verify Compatibility and Connection

Vehicle Compatibility:

  • Ensure that your vehicle has factory-installed wired CarPlay, as this is necessary for the AI Box to function.

  • Check your vehicle's manual if you are unsure if this system is included from the factory. You can also view the different models at the following link: Apple CarPlay. This link lists all models with wired and wireless CarPlay. Please ensure that your car has wired CarPlay.

Smartphone Compatibility:

  • AutoSky AI Box devices are designed to work with a wide range of smartphones that support Apple CarPlay. Ensure that your smartphone is compatible.

Correct Connection:

  • Ensure that the AI Box is properly connected to the vehicle's USB port. To determine if the device is on:

    • LED Indicator:

      • If the LED is off, try changing the device cable to a different one or restarting the device.

      • If the LED is on, check the color of the LED and follow the steps below.

Check the color of the LED:

  • Blue: Try opening CarPlay on your vehicle's infotainment system. This should start the AI Box.

  • Red: If your vehicle has factory-installed CarPlay and the LED indicator is red, it means the AI Box is on but cannot connect to your stereo. To resolve this, try restarting the device or resetting the stereo.

Restart the Device:

  • Try restarting both the AI Box and your vehicle's infotainment system.

  • Disconnect the device from the vehicle's USB port, wait about 10 seconds, and reconnect it. Also, try another USB port.

  • Turn off your vehicle and turn it back on.

  • If the above steps do not resolve the issue, try restarting the stereo with a hard reset. This process is different for each stereo, so please check here.

  • If you have never been able to start the AI Box in your vehicle, it is likely that it is not compatible with your car model.

  • If the device previously worked in your car and stopped working, and you have tried all the steps above, contact Technical Support.
