Managing shared Data Standards allows Network Leads to control which standards are available to Network Members and to monitor how those standards are being used. This work happens at the Network level and focuses on sharing, unsharing, and reviewing adoption, not on inviting organizations or implementing standards on behalf of others.
Sharing a Data Standard makes it available to Network Members, but it does not require them to use it. Each organization decides whether and how to implement shared standards.
Before you start
You must be an Apricot Administrator for the Network Lead organization.
The Service Provider Network must already exist.
Data Standards must be published before they can be shared.
Share or unshare Data Standards
Network Leads manage shared Data Standards from within the Network.
In Apricot, go to Administrator.
Open Workflow Station, then select Networks.
3. Select the Network you want to manage.
4. Open the three-dot (⋯) menu and choose Manage / Apply Data Standards.
5. To share a standard:
Select Add Data Standards.
Choose the Data Standard you want to share.
Select Apply Data Standard to confirm.
6. To stop sharing a standard:
Select Unshare next to the Data Standard.
Sharing and unsharing take effect immediately, but they do not change how members have already implemented a standard.
Understand what sharing means
It’s important to distinguish between sharing and implementation:
Sharing makes a Data Standard available to Network Members.
Implementation is completed by each Network Member and is always optional.
Unsharing a Data Standard removes it from the list of available standards but does not undo implementations that members have already completed.
Review Data Standard implementations by Network Member
From the Network view, you can see a list of Network Members. Click the three-dot (⋯) menu next to a Network Member to open additional options:
Remove the member from the Network, or
View Data Standard Implementations for that member.
Network Leads can review which Data Standards have been implemented by an individual Network Member. It does not provide access to the member’s data or allow you to control how the standard is implemented.
Managing updates and new versions
When a new version of a Data Standard is published:
You can choose whether to share the updated version with the Network.
Network Members are not forced to upgrade automatically.
Each organization decides when and whether to implement the new version.
This allows Networks to evolve standards over time while respecting member capacity and timelines.
Important things to know
Sharing a Data Standard does not share data.
Network Members remain in control of their own implementations.
You can share and unshare standards as Network needs change.
Managing shared Data Standards does not affect Network membership.
