Understanding Service Provider Network Management

Updated this week

Service Provider Networks in Apricot allow organizations to collaborate around shared goals by coordinating membership and sharing Data Standards in a controlled, intentional way. Network management is handled within Apricot and is typically performed by Network Leads or Apricot Administrators responsible for overseeing collaboration and reporting across organizations.

A Service Provider Network creates a shared space where participating organizations can align data collection while maintaining control over their own systems. Networks do not automatically share data. Instead, they provide tools that allow Network Leads to invite members, share Data Standards, and manage participation over time.

Managing a Network involves three core responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining the Network itself

  • Inviting and managing member organizations

  • Sharing and managing Data Standards within the Network

Each responsibility is handled explicitly, giving Network Leads control over how collaboration evolves.

Networks are flexible by design. Organizations can join or leave, Data Standards can be shared or unshared, and updates can be introduced through versioning. This allows Networks to adapt as reporting needs change, without disrupting participating organizations.

The articles below walk through the key Network management tasks and explain how to create and maintain a Network that supports effective collaboration and consistent reporting.
