How do I publish an Impact Hub dashboard?

Updated this week

Publishing a dashboard makes your report available to others in Impact Hub. Publishing is the point at which your work becomes visible to Readers and other stakeholders.

Before publishing, it’s a good practice to do a final review to make sure the dashboard behaves as expected.

You must have Author or Author Pro access to publish dashboards.

Before you publish

Before publishing, take a moment to review the report as it currently appears in Builder.

As a final check:

  • Confirm visuals display expected results

  • Spot-check key totals or metrics

  • Make sure filters apply to the intended scope

  • Review the report in Reader mode to see what viewers will experience

If something looks off, return to the appropriate report-building step before publishing.

Publish the dashboard

When you’re ready to share the dashboard:

  1. With the report open in Builder, select Publish.

2. Review the publish options.

3. Select Publish dashboard to confirm.

After publishing:

  • The dashboard becomes visible to users with access

  • Published dashboards update automatically as datasets refresh

  • Changes made in Builder are not visible to viewers until the dashboard is republished

Rename the dashboard (optional)

Dashboards are named during the publish process. This allows you to use a clear, audience-facing name that may differ from the internal report name used in Builder.

To rename a dashboard:

  1. Open the report in Builder.

  2. Select Publish in the top-right corner.

  3. Choose Replace existing dashboard (if you are republishing).

4. In the Publish dashboard modal, locate the Dashboard name field.

5. Edit the dashboard name as needed.

6. Continue with publishing.

Renaming a dashboard requires publishing for the updated name to appear.

Verify the published dashboard

After publishing:

  1. Navigate to Dashboards in Impact Hub.

  2. Refresh the page if needed.

3. Open the dashboard and confirm it appears as expected.

This quick check helps ensure the dashboard is ready for others to use.

Important things to know

  • Reports are created and renamed in Builder

  • Dashboards are named and renamed during the publish process

  • Publishing does not change the underlying dataset or Apricot data

  • Republishing is required for dashboard name changes to appear

  • You may need to refresh the Dashboards page to see updates
