Updating Order Item Dates on Dispatch
When you dispatch or book out equipment, you can update delivery and charging dates for all Order Items in one go, without having to edit each line individually.
This is especially useful when Orders are created in advance and the actual dispatch date differs from the original schedule.
How It Works
During the Dispatch or Book Out process, two tick boxes let you control which dates are updated across all items:
Option | Default | What it does |
Update Delivery Dates | Enabled | Updates the delivery date on all Order Items to match today |
Update Charging Start Dates | Disabled | Updates the charging start date on all Order Items to match today |
Enable or disable each option depending on what needs updating for that dispatch.
Step by Step
Navigate to Orders and select the Order you want to dispatch or book out
Click Dispatch or Book Out
The dispatch window will open, showing the date update tick boxes alongside the delivery and charging date fields
Review the tick boxes and adjust as needed
Click Confirm Dispatch or Book Out to apply
The system will apply your chosen date updates to all items on the Order.
When to Use Each Option
Update Delivery Dates only
Use this when the delivery is happening today but charging was intentionally set to start on a different date, such as when a customer is charged from a fixed contract start date.
Update Charging Start Dates
Use this when equipment is going out later than planned and you want charging to reflect the actual dispatch date rather than the original booking date.
Neither option selected
Dates on all Order Items remain exactly as entered. Use this when the original dates are correct and no adjustment is needed.
Summary
These tick boxes remove the need to manually edit each item line when dispatching early or late. A quick check before confirming your dispatch keeps delivery and charging dates accurate without adding extra steps to your workflow.
