[Billing] How Platform Fees Change When You Upgrade Your Plan

Your platform (ad) fee is set by your subscription plan. Here's exactly how the fee changes when you upgrade to a plan with a lower rate, and when that lower rate actually kicks in.

Platform fees by plan

  • Free, Artist Pro & Studio — 20% platform fee

  • Label/Power — 15% platform fee

  • Enterprise — custom rate, as low as 10%

When the new rate takes effect

Your new fee rate applies based on when an action is taken, not the moment your subscription itself upgrades. In practice, that breaks down like this:

  • New campaigns — any campaign you create after upgrading uses your new plan's fee straight away.

  • Campaigns already running — a campaign's current billing cycle keeps the fee rate that was in place when that cycle started. If the cycle started before you upgraded, it finishes out at the old rate.

  • Renewals — when a running campaign renews into its next cycle while your new plan is active, the new fee rate applies automatically from that renewal onward.

  • Budget increases — if you increase a campaign's budget while your new plan is active, the new fee rate applies to that added budget, even if the rest of the current cycle is still billing at the old rate.

Example

Say you're on Artist Pro (20% fee) and upgrade to Label/Power today. A campaign that's already mid-cycle and due to renew on the 30th will finish out its current cycle at 20%, then automatically switch to the 15% fee starting with that renewal on the 30th.

You don't need to stop, rebuild, or duplicate a good-performing campaign to benefit from the lower fee. It updates on its own at the next renewal.

Common questions

Do I need to rebuild or duplicate my existing campaigns to get the lower fee?
No. A well-performing campaign can keep running as-is — the lower fee applies automatically from its next renewal after you upgrade. Duplicating a campaign creates a brand-new campaign, which would use the new fee immediately, but this isn't necessary to benefit from the lower rate.

Does upgrading change the fee on my current campaign cycle?
No. Whatever cycle is already in progress keeps the fee rate it started with. Only the next renewal — or a new campaign, or an added budget — uses the new rate.

What if I increase my campaign budget before my next renewal?
The added budget is charged at your new plan's fee rate, even though the rest of that cycle's spend is still billing at the old rate.

Where can I view or change my plan?
From your Subscription settings. For more on how upgrades, cancellations, and billing cycles work generally, see Subscriptions, Cancellation & Refunds →
