How to Configure Corporate Currency Rewards

In this article, you'll learn how to award points for different learner activities. Learners can spend the points they earn in the Gift Shop, exchanging them for available rewards

💳 Corporate Currency is an internal points system that rewards learning and achievements.

The Gift Shop answers the question "What can learners spend their points on?", while Corporate Currency answers "How do learners earn and manage their points?". Learners accumulate points and redeem them in the Gift Shop, while administrators define the reward rules, configure exceptions, and manage each learner's balance.

To configure point rewards, navigate to Gift Shop → Point Settings:

Point Settings

In this section, you can define which learner activities earn points and specify the number of points awarded for each action. Each activity can be enabled or disabled individually, and the number of awarded points can be configured separately.

Learning

In the Learning section, you can automatically award points for the following activities:

  • Completing a course;

  • Passing a quiz;

  • Passing an exam;

  • Completing a learning path.

For quizzes and exams, you can also award bonus points for passing on the first attempt. This is an additional reward rule. Bonus points are awarded only if the learner successfully passes the quiz or exam on their very first attempt.

For example, if a learner attempts a quiz three times and passes only on the third attempt, they will receive the regular points for passing the quiz, but will not receive the first-attempt bonus:

Individual Point Values

You can assign custom point values for individual courses, quizzes, and exams.

Click View Individual Points to see all items that have custom point values configured.

If no individual point values have been configured yet, the system will prompt you to open the corresponding course, quiz, or exam and configure them in the Reward Settings section.

After saving, they will automatically appear in the list of individual point values:

Achievements

In the Achievements section, you can automatically award points when learners receive:

  • A certificate;

  • A badge:

📌 All configured reward rules work according to the AND principle, meaning the awarded points are cumulative.

For example, if the following rules are configured for a course:

  • Course completion — +5 points

  • Each completed quiz — +10 points (3 quizzes in the course)

  • Passing one quiz on the first attempt — +5 bonus points

  • Receiving the course badge — +10 points

The learner will receive:

  • Course completion — 5 points

  • First quiz — 10 points

  • Second quiz — 10 points

  • Third quiz — 10 points

  • First-attempt bonus — 5 points

  • Badge earned — 10 points

Total: 50 points.

Manually Awarding and Deducting Points

Administrators can manually adjust the point balance of any learner.

To do this, open the learner's profile, scroll to the Points section, and click Activity History:

The Activity History page displays the learner's current point balance along with the complete history of all point transactions. For each transaction, you'll see transaction type (earned or spent), number of points, comment and a date. Here you can review automatically awarded learning points, Gift Shop purchases, refunded points, all balance changes made by administrators. You can also filter the history by date and transaction type:

In the Change Point Balance window, you can award points, deduct points, specify the number of points, select or enter the reason for the balance change.

After confirming the changes, the learner's balance is updated automatically:

For all point balance changes made by administrators, the Logs button is available. This section contains the complete audit trail, including the action performed, number of awarded or deducted points, the administrator who performed the action, comment and a date and time of the change:
