How to apply for accommodations

Updated over a year ago

Acuity Insights Assessments accommodation requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure equal opportunity for all.

Applicants must submit an Accommodations Request Form, both Parts 1 and 2, as well as any supporting documents at least four (4) weeks prior to their scheduled Casper test to allow sufficient time for document review and a decision to be made on the appropriate testing accommodation.*

We ask that you send all documentation via email to support@acuityinsights.app. Alternatively, you can contact us to request a link where you can upload your documents to a secure encrypted folder. After submitting your accommodations request, the Acuity Insights Team will message you to confirm receipt of your request within 1 business day.

Please note that all submitted documents are confidential and will only be used to determine accommodation decisions. Your accommodation status will not be shared with academic programs, unless there is reason to believe that there has been a breach of our Terms of Use.

Details about your approved accommodations and how they are applied to Acuity Insights Assessments will be made available to you in an information package, if your request is approved. If applicable, you will also be provided with a link to a Practice Test with your specific time extension accommodation.

You can find all of the details regarding the Acuity Insights Accommodations Policy in this document.

*Please note that exceptions to the 4-week submission timeline and document requirements may be made in extreme circumstances (e.g., the second iteration of the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) Casper test or medical emergencies). Applicants should contact the Acuity Insights Team with their completed Accommodations Request Form as soon as possible to inquire if an exception can be made.
