Take control of timing and events within your ad with the Timer Module, a versatile tool designed to set up and manage timers that trigger various events. With this module, you can establish timers that start either manually through user interaction or automatically based on predefined conditions. Customize the duration and intervals of the timer to suit your needs, and link specific events to occur at designated points during the timer's countdown.

Use cases

  • Give the user a sense of urgency

  • Add a time element to game type ads

Example

This example shows how the timer can be used to count up - in this case show how long your "call" has lasted.

As with all examples, you can request us to copy them over to your company so you can look at how they are built in detail.

Count up

The first toggle lets you switch between a normal count-down and a timer that counts up to your designated timestamp instead.

Duration

Here, you can set up how long the timer will run for.

Autoplay

The autoplay feature lets you start the timer as soon as it is loaded / immediately. Alternatively, you can trigger it through an interaction.

Styling the timer

By clicking the typo that automatically gets added in the Layers tab, you can edit your timer visually the same way you would for the typo.

The text rendered is using variables (between the %% signs), which you can delete or use however you want. You can also just show seconds/minutes for example - or add text that goes around the time counting down.

Properties & Clickout

As for the Background module, the Timer module allows you to change different properties like the opacity seperately in the "Properties" tab.

Also, you can set up a clickout link for the Timer module as usual.

Interactions

The Timer offers all standard triggers & actions that the Background module offers as well. Furthermore, the Timer module offers:

Triggers

  • Timer started = Triggers as soon as the timer is started

  • Timer step 25% = Triggers as soon as the timer has reached 25% of the time to its' duration

  • Timer step 50% = Triggers as soon as the timer has reached 50% of the time to its' duration

  • Timer step 75% = Triggers as soon as the timer has reached 75% of the time to its' duration

  • Timer finished = Triggers as soon as the timer has reached its' duration time

  • Timer timestep = Triggers on a timestep you can define yourself

Actions for other modules

The Timer module offers a few specific actions for other modules/triggers to activate:

  • Stop timer = Stop a timer module

  • Start timer = Start a timer module

  • Reset timer = Reset a timer module to 0s/duration (depending on count up / down)
