This article will talk you through how to set up sending your appointment reminder messages.
An appointment reminder is a message which gets sent to your patients a numbder of days before their appointment to remind them of the details of their appointments booked. You are able to either send this message as an email or text message. Emails through the software are completely free of charge, whereas texts come at a chargeable rate.

Step 1 :
From the main menu, click to enter settings.
Step 2 :
Once in settings head to notification settings, under the heading notifications.
Step 3 :
You will then be brought to the upcoming appointment tab which contains the reminder area. Here, you will be able to select how you would like your reminder message to be sent to your patients. You can select either email, text message or both these methods.
Step 4 :
Once happy with your choices, you'll then be able to state if you would like your reminder to be sent days or hours before the appointment and how many this will be.
Then when set hit save.
The options which are selected will be how the message is sent to your patients. You can always come back into this section to update your preference in the future.
Step 5 :
Once you have set how you would like the reminder message to be sent, you can then edit the message the patient recieves. You can do this by heading back to settings and into SMS/Email templates, under the notifications area again.
Step 6 :
In this section, you can then choose the SMS template or email template depending on which you would like to change for your reminder.
Step 7 :
Once you have selected the type, you can then head to the reminder template option and select the edit button.
Step 8 :
Once in this section, you will be able to free type what you would like your reminder message to say in the box provided.
Practitioners will usually keep their reminder message shorter than their confirmation. Just sending key peices of information the patient needs for the appointment.
Step 9 :
You also have the option to insert 'tags' into your reminder message. These tags will pull through information about the patient and their appointment to the reminder like their name and appointment date and time.
REMINDER : If you are using a text message for your reminder, 1 credit is 160 characters. If your reminder message is more than 160 characters then 2 credits will be used.
Step 10 :
Once happy with what you have saved in your reminder template, hit update.
Step 11 :
Once this has all been updated, your reminder messages will start to be sent to your patients once an appoinrment is booked either manually or online.
Your reminders will automatically go to your patients in your selected method at the time period you have selected.
