How To Find Our ICD Code Section

Learn where to find the area to document your ICD Codes on ANS.

Updated over 5 months ago

This article will talk you through where to find the ICD code section within ANS to document the codes for the relevant treatments.

ICD codes are a set of designations used by healthcare staff to communicate diseases, symptoms, abnormal findings and other elements of patients diagnosis in a way that is universally accepted by those in medical and insurance fields. They can be used in the aesthetics industry to help distinguish whether a treatment is for medical or cosmetic reasons and keep consistent documentation.

To learn how to find our ICD code section within Aesthetic Nurse Software, follow our simple steps below.

Documenting Your ICD Code

To document a ICD code for an appointment, you must first head into a patient appointment where the treatment documentation is stored.

Step 1 :

From the main menu, head into the the patient record.

Step 2 :

Then head into the specific patient you are looking to complete the treatment documentation for.

Step 3 :

Once in the record, head into the specific appointment via the list on the left hand side of the record.

Step 4 :

You will then be brought to the treatment documentation side of the software. You will need to head into the treatment details section.

Step 5 :

Once in the treatment details section to find the ICD code area, you will need to select the pencil icon next to the treatment for the appointment.

Step 6 :

Then you will see a purpose section at the bottom of the box, which will allow you to document if the treatment is for a medical or cosmetic reason.

Step 7 :

If the purpose of the treatment is cosmetic an ICD code is not required. If medical is selected as the purpose another section will appear where you can document the ICD code relevant for the treatment.

To save the information you would then select save details.

If an ICD code is missing from the list which you require, this can be added in the settings of the software. You can learn how to set this up in our additional guide.
