This article provides essential guidance for managing Coal Mine Workers' Health Scheme (CMWHS) medical bookings in ResHealth. Following these best practices will help ensure a smooth and efficient process for both affiliates and workers.

Assigning Medical Bookings to EMOs in ResHealth

To streamline the medical booking process for CMWHS assessments, we recommend that any bookings made by KINNECT be assigned to your Examining Medical Officer (EMO) in ResHealth 24-48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.

Troubleshooting Unassigned Bookings

If you are unable to assign the booking within this timeframe, it is typically due to the worker not having completed their required sections. In such cases:

Handling No-Shows and Late Fees

For efficiency, we encourage affiliates to treat appointments that cannot be assigned before the scheduled time as a no-show, with late fees applied as appropriate.

  • We will communicate these policies to employers, advising them of any associated costs and the requirement to reschedule the worker’s appointment.

Chest X-Rays and B-Reads – EMO Review Not Required

Please note that Examining Medical Officers (EMOs) are not required to review Chest X-rays and B-Reads as part of the examination process. To facilitate this:

  • We have provided screenshots from ResHealth outlining how EMOs can finalise and submit these assessments without completing the review step.

  • If the EMO is unsure of the Appointed Medical Adviser (AMA), they can enter "KINNECT" in the appointed AMA section.
