When you simulate your workflow, Synthace will work out which tip types will allow your liquid handler to complete the liquid handling steps in your workflow as efficiently as possible, where efficiently means:
as quickly as possible;
with the fewest number of tips; and
with the least amount of tip capacity wasted.
When you prepare your liquid handler, Synthace will tell you which tip types to use, and where to add their boxes to the deck. However, if you would prefer to specify the tip types that you want your liquid handler to use, you can do so.
From the builder, open the Workflow Settings panel.
Beneath Tip Types, click Add New Item.
From the drop-down, select a tip type that you want to use.
4. You can also select multiple tip types that you want Synthace to consider using during planning. Synthace will then select the most appropriate tip type to use, based on the volume being transferred.
Note: it is also possible to ensure liquid transfers occur with a specific tip type, using custom liquid policies.
