Primary Role: Business Administrator (BA)

Focus: Apply

Where: Admin Portal

🧭Before You Start (Important)

  • Force logout applies immediately to active sessions

  • Users will be required to re-authenticate on next access

  • This action does not remove access or delete the user

🎯Why It Matters

  • Force logout immediately ends a user’s active sessions across the ANVL platform

  • Cached sessions can cause:

    • Access and permission errors

    • Inconsistent Group (Site) context

  • Group and permission changes do not fully apply until the user re-authenticates

  • The Mobile App and ANVL Workflows are especially sensitive to stale sessions

⏱️When to Do This

  • A user reports login, sync, or permission errors

  • A user cannot open workflows or tasks

  • A user’s role, Group, or access level has changed

  • A user is removed from a Group (Site)

  • As a first troubleshooting step before escalation

Mandatory Rule

If a user is removed from a Group (Site), you must force logout the user.

Failure to do so can result in errors caused by invalid or stale session context, especially in ANVL Workflows and the Mobile App.

🛠️Steps: Force Logout a Single User

  1. Navigate to User Management (Admin Portal landing page)

  2. Search for and select the user

  3. Hover over the user row until the right-facing arrow appears

  4. Select the right-facing arrow to Force Logout

🛠️Steps: Force Logout Multiple Users (Bulk)

  1. Open the ANVL Admin Portal (Admin Portal landing page)

  2. Navigate to User Management

  3. Use search or filters to locate users

  4. Select multiple users

  5. Choose Bulk User Logout

✅What You Should See

  • Confirmation that the logout action completed successfully

  • Users prompted to log back in on next access

  • Error conditions resolved after re-login in most cases

⚠️Watch Out For…

  • Force logout does not delete users or remove access

  • Users may need to fully close and reopen the Mobile App

  • Group and permission changes take effect only after the user logs back in

  • If issues persist after logout, verify:

    • Group membership

    • Role and Special Rights assignment

    • Workflow publication status
