Start a Workflow

  1. Open the ANVL app and sign in

  2. Tap Workflows or Start Workflow

  3. You’ll see your organization’s workflow library

The list of workflows may vary by site or role.

If you don’t see what you’re looking for, open Categories to view all available workflows.

Your most frequently used workflows will appear at the top over time.

Complete the Workflow

Once you select a workflow (for example, a Job Safety Assessment):

  • Tap Begin

  • Answer one question at a time

  • All responses are automatically time- and date-stamped

  • Follow-up questions may appear based on your answers

Everything you see is customized to your organization.

Use Helpful Features While Working

Voice-to-Text

Use voice-to-text to quickly enter responses—especially helpful when wearing gloves.

Photos & Videos

  • Add photos or videos at any step

  • Annotate images to highlight hazards or areas of concern

  • Adding photos is strongly encouraged for better context

Reference Content

Some steps may include:

  • Images or diagrams

  • Links (shown in orange text)

  • Help text or reference materials (e.g., SDS links)

Tap orange text to open links or resources.

Stop Work & Supervisor Support

If you identify a serious hazard:

  • Select the appropriate response (such as Yes – Hazard Present)

  • ANVL may prompt you to:

    • Contact your supervisor

    • View emergency information

  • Supervisors can receive real-time notifications

You can update your response and continue once it’s safe to proceed.

Add Crew Members & Sign

  • Add crew members if others are working with you

  • Complete the e-signature at the end of the workflow

  • Tip: sign horizontally for best results

  • Some workflows may also prompt you to start another related workflow.

Pause, Delete, or Exit

  • You can pause a workflow at any time and return later

    • Press "CLOSE" or "KEEP IN PROGRESS"

  • Swipe left to delete a workflow started by mistake

  • Progress is saved automatically unless deleted

Raise a Concern or Get Help

At any time, open the menu to:

  • Log a concern (near miss, good catch, hazard)

  • Flag feedback on a question

  • View emergency contacts

  • Contact your supervisor

That’s It

Completing a workflow is as simple as:

  1. Start the workflow

  2. Answer the questions

  3. Submit when finished

ANVL guides you step by step so you can focus on doing the job safely.
