What are Team Assignments?

Assign any workflow to cohorts of users

Answer

Team Assignments let you assign a workflow or assignment schedule to a defined Team instead of assigning it one person at a time. This is useful when the same work needs to be completed by a shift, crew, audit layer, or functional group.

Team Assignments help reduce manual setup, improve consistency, and make team-based work easier to manage at scale. They are especially useful for recurring inspections, shift-based checks, and programs like Layered Process Audits, where the same workflow needs to be assigned to multiple people on an ongoing basis.

When you assign to a Team, the assignment is created for the team as a group and Everyone Completes is enforced. That means each team member is expected to complete the assigned workflow.

Steps

Create or manage a Team

  1. Open ANVL Insights.

  2. Go to Users.

  3. Select Teams.

  4. Select Add Team to create a new team, or open an existing team to update it.

  5. Enter the team name and add the users who should be part of the team.

  6. Save the team.

Example Use Cases

Daily Safety Inspections (Shift-Based Work)

Scenario:

You are a Site Leader overseeing a morning shift crew responsible for daily safety inspections.

With Team Assignments, you can:

  • Create a Team called “Shift A Morning Crew” and add all crew members

  • Assign the Daily Safety Inspection workflow to the Team in one step

  • Clearly communicate that every member must complete the workflow

  • View the Team name directly in the Assignments table for quick tracking

  • Enable frontline workers to see the Team indicator and completion requirement in the mobile app

Layered Process Audits

Scenario:

You are managing a Layered Process Audit program across supervisors, leads, and operations teams.

With Team Assignments, you can:

  • Create Teams based on audit layers (e.g., Supervisor LPA Team, Manager LPA Team)

  • Assign recurring LPA workflows to each Team (daily, weekly, or monthly cadence)

  • Ensure every team member completes their assigned audit, reinforcing consistency across layers

  • Track completion by in the Manager Dashboard for quick compliance visibility

  • Provide frontline users with clear expectations and ownership directly in the mobile app

This ensures LPAs are executed consistently across all levels of the organization—improving process discipline and operational reliability.

What Frontline Workers See

In Frontline Operations (ANVL Workflows), team members can:

  • See that the assignment was made to a Team

  • Understand that Everyone Completes applies

  • Receive the same assignment notifications and reminders as individual assignments
