In almost every case, the setup looks like this:
# | Permission | Status |
1 | Meta App (OAuth) | Granted |
2 | ADVERTISE access on the ad account | Missing |
The app connected fine. The issue is on the Meta Business Manager side, not inside Atria.
Why two permissions are required
Permission 1: Meta App (OAuth) This is granted when you connect your Meta account to Atria for the first time. It gives Atria API access to read and manage ad data. Most users complete this on first connection.
Permission 2: ADVERTISE access on the ad account This is a separate, account-level permission inside Meta Business Manager. Even with full API access, Meta still checks whether the connected user has the right to create and publish ads on a specific ad account. If this is missing, Atria cannot launch.
How to fix it
A Business Manager Admin must complete Steps 1–4. If you are the admin, you can do this yourself. If not, forward these steps to whoever manages your Business Manager.
Step 1: Open Meta Business Manager Settings
Confirm you're in the correct Business Account (check the top-left corner)
Step 2: Navigate to Ad Accounts
In the left sidebar, go to Accounts → Ad accounts
Select the ad account that's showing 1/2 in Atria
Step 3: Check People assigned to the ad account
Click the People tab (or "Manage people")
Locate the user who connected the ad account to Atria
Review their permission level
You'll see one of two situations:
User is listed with ANALYZE only → needs to be upgraded
User is not listed → needs to be added with ADVERTISE access
Step 4: Grant ADVERTISE access
If the user is listed with limited access:
Click their name
Change the permission from ANALYZE to ADVERTISE (or MANAGE for full control)
Click Save changes
If the user is not listed:
Click Add people
Search by name or email
Select ADVERTISE (recommended) or MANAGE
Click Assign
Meta permission levels at a glance:
ANALYZE — view-only, cannot create or publish ads
ADVERTISE — can create, edit, and publish ads (minimum required by Atria)
MANAGE — full control including billing and user management
Step 5: Refresh permissions in Atria
Go back to Atria → Launch tab
Click the Permissions button (top-right corner)
Atria will re-check automatically
Meta permission changes can take 1–2 minutes to propagate. If it still shows 1/2 after a moment, click Permissions again to refresh.
Common scenarios
"I'm the only person on the account — why don't I have ADVERTISE?" If the ad account was shared with your Business Manager from another business (e.g., a client shared it with your agency), Meta may default to ANALYZE-only. Ask the account owner to upgrade your access.
"I'm the Business Manager admin — can I fix this myself?" Yes. Admins can assign any permission level to any ad account in their portfolio. Follow Steps 2–4 and assign yourself ADVERTISE or MANAGE.
"I had full access before, but now it shows 1/2" This can happen if a Business Manager admin changed your permissions, the ad account was moved to a different Business Manager, or Meta restricted access during a policy review. Check your current access at Meta Business Settings → Ad accounts.
"My ad account is a personal account, not in a Business Manager" Personal accounts don't follow the same permission structure. If you're the owner, you should have full access by default. If you're still seeing 1/2:
Go to Facebook Settings → Business Integrations
Remove Atria from the list
Reconnect your account in Atria Settings → Ad Accounts and approve all requested permissions
"I granted permissions but the status didn't update"
Wait 1–2 minutes, then click the Permissions button again
Log out and back into Atria
As a last resort, disconnect and reconnect the ad account in Settings
Quick reference
Status | What it means | Action needed |
0/2 | Neither permission granted | Reconnect Meta account + ask admin for access |
1/2 | App connected, ADVERTISE missing | Admin grants ADVERTISE in Business Manager |
2/2 | Fully ready | No action needed, start launching |
