Reports in AwardSpring live under Reports > Smart Reports. This page explains the kinds of reports you can run and how reporting works, so you can pick the right one. To run or build a report, see the how-to articles linked at the bottom.
The report types
When you start a report (Reports > Smart Reports, then the Build Report tab), you first choose a report type – the core data your report is built on. Report types come in two kinds:
Smart Reports – you build and customize these: pick the columns and filters, preview the data, and save the report to re-run later. There are three smart report types.
Static Reports – predefined reports with fixed columns. You pick one and run it, setting any required filters each time. See the Static Reports guide for the full set (reviewer, qualification, funds, and more).
The three smart report types:
Scholarship Details – a view of scholarship settings, statuses, funding, and custom fields.
Scholarship with Students – a comprehensive report that can include scholarship status and application data for each student.
Student Answers – student activity and their answers to all application questions within a selected cycle.
Note: The Student Answers report supports filtering by submission date, allowing users to generate reports for specific date ranges.
The section is named Smart Reports, but it houses both kinds: the three smart types above and Static Reports.
How reporting works
Every report moves through three stages:
Build – pick the type, filters, and columns (Smart Reports), or pick a predefined report (Static Reports).
Run – AwardSpring processes the report in the background. Larger reports can take longer, and you'll get an email when it's ready, with a link to download the report directly so you don't have to return to this page.
Download – the finished file lands in the History tab, where you download it.
Downloads are snapshots. A downloaded report reflects your data at the time it was run – it does not update automatically. For fresh data, run the report again.
Where to go next
How to Run Smart and Static Reports – run a saved Smart Report or a Static Report and download it.
Building Smart Reports – create and save a new Smart Report from scratch.
The per-type guides: Scholarship Details, Scholarship with Students, and Student Answers.
Static Reports – the full set of predefined reports (reviewer, qualification, funds, and more).
