About the Designer course format

The Designer course format adds extra settings at course, section, and activity level, while all standard Moodle settings remain available.

The Designer course format includes all features of the Designer plugin. To use them, you need to select the Designer format in the course settings.

Once applied, you’ll find additional settings for configuring the design of a course in the course settings, in the section settings, and at activity level.

Global settings let you define defaults for all courses to reduce manual configurations and support a more consistent design across courses.

In the course settings, Designer provides the following additional options:

With the Designer format, every section becomes a Designer section and can include these additional options:
