When you select the Designer format, every section becomes a Designer section and includes additional layout settings. These settings let you define a layout, how a section is displayed across devices, how much space it occupies, and how its content is structured.
Available settings
Section width desktop size
Choose between 100, 50, 33, 25, and 20%.Section width tablet size
Choose between 100, 50, and 33%.
Section width phone size
Choose between 100 and 50%.
Note: Configuring section width only works for one sections per page.
Estimated time
Specify the estimated time required to complete this section.
Currently, this is only used for the integration with the Dash plugin. In a future release, it will also be possible to display it on the section card.Minimum height (Pro only)
Define the minimum height in pixel or rem.
Section Container (Pro only)
Normal – Default width determined by the theme or layout.
Full – Stretches the container to full screen width.
Boxed – Wraps the content in a boxed container with a defined width.
Section container width (Pro only)
Specify width in pixels.
Section content (Pro only)
Normal – Content is displayed in a regular, unboxed layout.
Boxed – Content is wrapped in a boxed container, giving it defined boundaries.
Section content width (Pro only)
Specify in pixels.
Layout columns - Desktop (Pro only)
Choose between 5 and 1 columns.
Layout columns - Tablet (Pro only)
Choose between 3 and 1 columns.
Layout columns - Mobile (Pro only)
Choose between 2 and 1 columns.
Circle size (Pro only)
Choose between small, medium, and large.
Available only if a circle layout is selected.
Tip: Combine columns and different section layouts to create customized course designs that fit your needs.
Section layout
On the course page you can configure the section layout. Turn editing on, click Edit on the section, then go to Section layout and choose one of the following options:
Text links (default)
Displays activities as simple text-based links, usually showing the activity title or description. This minimalist layout focuses on clarity and quick navigation. Activities can appear in a list or grid, depending on the course design.List
Shows activities in a vertical list. Typically displays the activity title and may also include details such as type, due date, or completion status. This layout is straightforward and easy to follow in sequence.Cards
Displays activities as individual cards with the title, description, and optionally type, due date, or completion status. Cards can also include images or icons, making this a visually engaging and modern layout.Vertical circles (Pro only)
Shows activities as circles arranged in a vertical column. Each circle is intended to display an activity image, with details such as title and description below. This layout offers a compact, visually appealing presentation.Horizontal circles (Pro only)
Displays activities as circles arranged side by side horizontally. Each circle contains the activity image, with details such as title and description placed next to it. Learners can scroll horizontally to view more activities.
Note: If "Show one section per page" is enabled in the course format settings, section layout options are only available within the section view, not on the main course page.
