How does the Smartlocks integration work?

Besty's Integrated Locks product connects your smart lock devices directly into your Besty workflow, so your team has everything they need in one place.

What you see in the Unified Inbox

Once your devices are connected, they appear directly in your Besty unified inbox. For each lock you can see:

  • Battery life

  • Status — locked or unlocked

  • Access codes — generated from the last four digits of the guest's phone number

  • Backup codes

This also makes Autopilot smarter. Because it's aware of lock status, when a guest asks for access codes, Besty can resurface and troubleshoot them automatically.

Smart devices beyond locks

The integration also supports thermostats and noise sensors:

  • Thermostats — Set temperatures based on check-in time, check-out time, or vacancy status.

  • Noise sensors — When decibels exceed a set level, Besty automatically sends the guest a message.

Connecting your devices

Besty uses Seam as its lock API provider. Seam has hundreds of thousands of devices connected globally and supports approximately 99% of smart lock OEMs, so your devices are almost certainly compatible.

To connect your locks:

  • Go to Settings and connect your lock account(s).

  • Once connected, map your devices to your properties inside Besty.

Multiple OEMs can be connected simultaneously and organized by property.

Lock settings

For each device you can configure:

  • Auto-lock timing — when the lock should automatically re-lock.

  • Daily reports — PDF reports emailed to your team, customizable per device.

  • Notification preferences.

Lock dashboard

The lock dashboard gives you a filterable snapshot view showing:

  • Lock vs. unlock counts

  • Connectivity — online vs. offline

  • Battery health
