How does the Direct Booking Site Widget work?
The direct booking site widget is an AI-powered chat widget that sits in the bottom-right corner of your direct booking website. It lets potential guests ask questions about your properties and availability before they book.
What the widget can do
Answer questions about individual properties — amenities, pet policies, what's included, and more.
Filter and compare properties based on guest criteria (e.g., "I need a pet-friendly property with a pool").
Check calendar availability for specific dates.
Handle misspellings and natural language — it's AI-powered.
Link guests directly to a booking page or property listing.
The widget pulls all property data from your PMS, plus anything you've added to Besty's Knowledge Base.
Installing the widget
Contact Besty to have the widget enabled for your account.
Go to Settings > Widget.
Copy the script from the Widget page.
Paste it into your website — either directly into your HTML file, or via a custom HTML/embed block in Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, or a similar builder. It's one line of code.
Customization
Host avatar — Add your logo or a team photo to the widget.
Contact info capture — Ask for the guest's email and/or phone number. You can make this optional, required, or skip it entirely and let the AI decide the right moment to ask.
Welcome message — Customize what the widget says when a guest first opens it.
Escalation message — Customize what appears when the AI can't answer a question.
How conversations flow into Besty
Every conversation from the widget appears in your Besty Inbox. You can see where the visitor is located, their device information, and jump into the conversation to message them directly. Leads from your direct booking site are managed in the same place as all your other guest conversations.
