One number per account
Besty currently supports one phone number per account. That single number handles SMS, outbound calls and incoming calls from guests and owners.
Support for multiple numbers is something we are working towards, but there is no confirmed date for it yet.
Using a local or international number
If you manage properties in another country and want guests to see a local number, the supported approach is to buy that number from a local provider and forward it to your Besty number.
Calls arriving this way follow the call routing and configuration you have already set up in Besty, so your IVR, ring groups, schedules and voicemail all continue to work as normal. You do not need a separate setup for the forwarded number.
This is a common arrangement for portfolios spanning more than one market.
Voicemail on forwarded calls works differently
This is the one thing to be aware of, and it works in the opposite direction to the setup above.
If you use Forward to Number in Besty to send calls out to an external phone, Besty cannot record a voicemail from that number. Voicemail only works on the Besty number itself.
So if a caller presses an option, the call goes unanswered on the external number, and it hangs up rather than taking a message, that is the external number's own voicemail configuration rather than something Besty controls.
If you want voicemail handled by Besty, with voicemails transcribed into the guest thread, use Besty Call Routing rather than forwarding. Your team answers in the Besty app on desktop or mobile, and voicemail is configured within the routing rules.
