Set up deposits for ticket sales
You can let buyers secure tickets with a deposit and pay the remaining balance later. Ticket sales use the same deposit, deadline, reminder, and unpaid-order settings as other eligible order forms.
Add deposits to a ticket sale
Open Tickets in your Seller Dashboard.
Create a ticket sale or open an existing draft.
Go to Sale settings.
Turn on Allow deposits.
Open Deposits and payment plans.
Choose Percentage or Fixed amount, then enter the deposit.
Set the Minimum order value.
The deposit option appears only when the buyer's eligible order reaches the minimum order value. For a fixed deposit, the minimum must be at least the fixed deposit plus 5.00 in the ticket sale's currency.
Shipping and applicable fees for eligible add-ons or products are added to the amount collected at checkout.
Set the final payment deadline
Choose the date, time, and timezone by which the remaining balance must be paid. You can use the ticket sale's close date if desired, instead of entering a custom date.
Choose an unpaid-order policy
Choose Keep and remind to leave the order open and continue the usual reminders.
Choose Cancel after a grace period to send a final notice after the deadline and cancel the order if the balance remains unpaid when the grace period ends.
If an unpaid ticket order is canceled, its reserved items return to stock. Cancellation does not automatically refund a deposit or installments already paid.
Add the deposit policy
Your deposit policy is shown before checkout. Explain your refund and cancellation terms, including what happens if the buyer misses the final deadline.
Make sure this wording agrees with the refund policy for the ticket sale.
Review before publishing
On Review and publish, check the following:
the deposit type and amount
the minimum order value
the final payment deadline and timezone
the unpaid-order policy and grace period
the deposit policy
the ticket sale's refund policy.
FAQ
Are tickets reserved (and removed from remaining tickets available) upon deposit or after final payment?
The buyer's initial deposit secures the eligible order and reserves the full ticket quantity in that order. If the seller cancels a ticket order due to unfinished payments, then the ticket(s) will return to available inventory.
Can the buyer pay the remaining balance early?
Yes. The buyer can open their order and pay an eligible amount before its due date.
