Set up Your BlinkBid Account

Instructions to begin using BlinkBid, like adding your logo, business information, tax preferences, and custom labels.

In this article, we will show you how to input your preferences to make the job appear like the sample job presented below.

Logo

  1. To upload your logo, go to the Dashboard, and go to “Manage Personalities."

  2. Go to a Personality without a Logo/Signature uploaded.

  3. Click “Choose File” and navigate to your file from your computer. Do this for both the logo and your signature file (if you have one).

  4. Then hit "Save."

To choose the size and position of your logo, go to Settings > Document Appearance > Layout Options.

Company Information

  1. To add your company's personal information, click on your name in the top right corner < My Account < Personalities.

  2. Once you click on the personality whose information you would like to change, there is a tab on the right that contains “Basic,” “Address,” or “Images.” Here is where you can edit/change your personal contact information (phone number, email address, personality name, business address etc.) or add your logo.

  3. Then press "Save."

Custom Fields

  1. If you need a field that BlinkBid, does not provide, add it. To make custom labels, go to Settings > Document Appearance > Label & Section Text. The label will appear in the Job Info section.

  2. Click the orange “Add button".

  3. Enter your custom field name and choose where you would like it to appear on the printed document.

  4. Click the blue “Save Label Text” button.

Custom Labels will only appear on new jobs. For existing jobs, you will need to use the duplicate feature for the labels to appear. For more information about adding custom fields, click here.

Estimate/Advance/Invoice Terms

BlinkBid allows you to input Estimate/Advance/Invoice Terms and Terms and Conditions. For information about the difference between these, click here.

  1. To add Estimate/Advance/Invoice Terms, go to the Settings > Terms section.

  2. Click the Use Default Text button or edit the text to your liking.

  3. Click the "Save" button.

The Estimate, Advance, and Invoice terms section also supports merge tags. You can read more about those here.

Estimate and Invoice terms saved in Settings will automatically populate into every new job within your personality. Duplicate jobs will not to avoid accidental sharing of data from one job to the next. If you're duplicating a job OR editing your Estimate and Invoice Terms to an existing job in Settings, you will need to click "Import From Personality" within the job window to append changes.

In Settings < Document Appearance < Layout Options, you can choose to add your terms to the top or the bottom of your document. For more information about Estimate and Invoice Terms, click here. For more information about Advance Invoice Terms, click here.

Tax Preferences

BlinkBid allows you to save tax information in Settings as well as make one-time adjustments at the job level.

  1. To add tax information, go to Settings < Financials < Taxes.

  2. Input the name and rate of the tax.

  3. Press "Save."

To set the tax at the job level, or change the tax preferences:

  1. Go to the job window. There is a financial tab on the right.

  2. You can choose to apply the tax to the "Job Subtotal" or to "Individual Line Item(s)."

If you would like to apply new Settings to existing jobs, you will need to use the "Import from Personality" button which appears inside the "Financials" tab at the job level. For more information about tax preferences, click here.
