With filters and sorting you find exactly the transactions you want to review or edit in Transactions. This is the basis for labeling, merging and resolving tips.
Which filter for which question?
You want to … | Filter |
find a specific transaction (ID, hash, note)
narrow down the cause of a tip
see all staking rewards of an asset at one exchange
show only derivatives, NFTs or fiat
find deleted, edited or merged transactions again
find manually created transactions
see which transactions fall into which tax category |
This is what the filters and sorting look like:
Search field: find transactions by ID, hash or note
With the search field (magnifying glass) above the transaction list you find:
▸ Blockpit transaction ID: the internal 18-digit ID, for example 886666570435135070
▸ Blockchain transaction ID (tx hash): the on-chain hash or signature from the explorer (Etherscan, Solscan …)
▸ Notes: keywords from your transaction notes
💡 Where do I find the IDs?
Click the transaction. In the details, the Blockpit transaction ID is at the top left and the tx hash at the bottom right. You copy both with the copy icon; the hash links to the block explorer.
Date
📆 Limit the list to a period. This helps most when you look for the cause of a tip, for example the weeks before the first negative balance.
Integration, label and asset
You use these three filters most often. The combination helps most: one asset in one integration. This shows exactly the section that matters for a tip.
💡 Example: Integration Bitpanda + label Staking + asset VSN shows all VSN staking rewards from Bitpanda.
💡 Tip: Select the filtered transactions and change their label in one step (bulk labeling).
Asset Type
Blockpit assigns every asset to a class: Crypto, Derivative, Commodity, Fiat or NFT. With this filter you show, for example, only derivatives such as the leverage token XRP2L.
Tips
Shows only transactions with a specific tip, such as Missing History or Missing Label. The filter only appears if you have tips.
💡 Tip: If you search for Unlabeled, also set Asset Type = Crypto. This hides tax-neutral fiat deposits and withdrawals.
View: edited, deleted and merged transactions
View is the filter for everything you changed, and so your way back. With it you find edited, deleted or spam-marked transactions, transactions by review status, with your own note or value, and manually or automatically merged transactions.
ℹ️ Good to know: You can also mark, delete, edit and label several transactions at once via the checkboxes.
▶ Edited
📝 Shows transactions you changed after the import. You recognize them by the Last Edited field in the details.
Undo: In the extended details under Edits you see every change. Reset Transaction restores the imported state.
▶ Deleted
Deleted normally (formerly “exclude”)
👁🗨 Shows transactions you removed from the list and the tax calculation with Delete Transaction.
Undo: Recover Transaction puts them back into the calculation.
▶ Merged and Auto-Merged
🔗 Merged: trades or transfers you merged yourself, recognizable by the chain icon
🔗 Auto-Merged: transfers that Blockpit merged automatically, additionally marked with an “A”
ℹ️ Undo: Split Transaction separates trades and transfers back into Unlabeled incoming (deposit) and Unlabeled outgoing (withdrawal). Exception: trades that an exchange integration imported automatically.
▶ No Fee Label
Temporarily hides all transactions with the label Fee. This makes blockchain integrations with many fees much easier to read.
Import Type
Filters by how a transaction came into Blockpit: Blockchain, API, CSV or Manual. This helps you quickly find manually created transactions in an exchange or wallet integration, for example before you start a re-sync.
Tax Type
Shows which transactions fall into which tax category. The filter only exists if you have purchased the tax report for this year. Start a recalculation first so the results are up to date.
Under Reports, direct links in the Tax Results section lead you to the matching transactions per tax category.
Typical mistakes
✗ Searching for a tip without narrowing down integration and asset → too many results, the cause gets lost
✗ Looking for a deleted transaction in the normal list → it only appears under View: Deleted
✗ Leaving a filter active and wondering about missing transactions → check the active filters at the top and reset them
Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I see the “Tips” filter?
It only appears if your account has tips. No tips, no filter.
Why is “Tax Type” greyed out?
The filter needs a purchased tax report for the year and a current calculation.
How do I find a transaction I just deleted?
Via View › Deleted. There you can recover it.
