Updated over 3 months ago

Boatyard offers a comprehensive task management feature that allows you to efficiently organize and track your tasks. With this feature, you can create tasks, assign them to team members, set due dates and priorities, and link them to specific jobs, orders, or customers.

In this article, we will provide an overview of the task management feature in Boatyard and how it can help you stay on top of your tasks.

Creating Tasks

To create a new task, simply click on the "Add Task" button. This will open a form where you can name the task, add a description, and attach any relevant files. You can also assign the task to specific team members, set a due date, and choose a priority level. Additionally, you have the option to link the task to a job, order, or customer, making it easier to keep track of tasks related to specific projects or clients.

Viewing and Managing Tasks

All your tasks are displayed in the "MyTask" section on the dashboard. Here, you can easily rearrange the order of tasks by dragging and dropping them. You can also mark tasks as complete by checking the box next to them. To view tasks assigned to a specific team member or with a certain priority level, you can use the filter options. Additionally, you can access completed tasks for reference or review.

You can click on the All Tasks tab to view tasks that are assigned to your team members.

For quick access to the task manager, you can use the task manager box on the dashboard or click on the check icon in the top right corner of your screen to view your task list.

Editing Tasks

If any changes need to be made to a task, you can easily edit it. This includes updating the title, description, and attachments, as well as changing the assignee, due date, and priority.

You can also update the linked customer if necessary.

Additionally, you can add comments to a task and tag team members to keep them in the loop. This is especially useful for collaborating on tasks and ensuring everyone is on the same page.

Collaborating on Tasks

Boatyard makes it easy to collaborate with your team on tasks. You can tag team members in comments to notify them of updates or assign them tasks.

You will also receive notifications for new tasks and comments, keeping you updated on your team's progress.
