Appointment Conflicts Flyout Explained

Learn what the appointment conflicts flyout is, when it appears while creating an appointment, and which field combinations trigger it.

Written by Quinn Bott

The appointment conflicts flyout warns you, while you create an appointment, about existing appointments that might conflict with it.

When it appears

When a Root/LSC Admin, Requestor Admin, or Requestor creates an appointment that may conflict with an existing one, the Appointment Conflicts sidebar appears on the right and lists every existing appointment with an identified conflict. You can also select Find Conflicts to check, and you’ll see No Conflicts found when there are none. Each conflicting appointment shows its Start Time, Account, Requestor, Consumer, and Location.

What triggers a conflict

Five fields are considered when detecting a conflict:

  • Account

  • Requestor

  • Location

  • Date/Time

  • Consumer

Each field is taken into account, but only certain combinations of overlapping fields trigger the notification. The flyout appears when any of these combinations overlap:

  • same date/time, requestor, and account

  • same location, date/time, requestor, and account

  • same consumer, date/time, and account

  • same consumer, date/time, requestor, and account

  • same consumer, location, date/time, and account

  • same consumer, location, date/time, requestor, and account

Note: It is not currently possible to book two simultaneous or overlapping OPI/VRI appointments for the same requestor.

For more information on appointments, see the Appointments section of the Help Center.
