Configuring Multifactor Authentication

Written by Quinn Bott

Requestors and interpreters can add multifactor authentication (MFA) to their Boostlingo account for extra security. This article covers configuring each MFA type and where admins can see a user's MFA method.

Note: You can enable as many MFA types as you like. If more than one is on, Boostlingo lets you choose which to use at sign-in.

Open your authentication settings

Navigate to Configuration > Authentication, then choose one of the three types: Text Message, Email, or Authenticator App.

Each method shows a status of set up for Email, Text message and Authenticator app.

Note: Boostlingo asks for a verification code the first time you sign in on a new device, and then once every 30 days after that.

Text Message

  1. Select "+ Set Up" next to text message.

  2. Enter your mobile phone number and select Send Code.

  3. Enter the six-digit code sent to your phone and select Finish.

Once the code is accepted, Text Message authentication shows as On.

Email

  1. Select "+ Set Up" next to Email.

  2. Enter your email address and select Send Code.

  3. Enter the six-digit code sent to your email and select Finish.

Once the code is accepted, Email authentication shows as On.

Authenticator App

  1. Select "+ Set Up" next to Authenticator App.

  2. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or enter the code shown.

  3. Enter the six-digit code your app generates and select Finish.

Once the code is accepted, App Authentication is turned on.

For admins: view a user's MFA method

LSC and Requestor Admins can see a user's MFA method on their Profile tab.

Next steps / Getting more help

For interpreters and requestors: if you're not receiving your code, check the phone number or email on file and try another MFA type. If you're locked out, let your LSC admin know so they can escalate to Boostlingo Support.

For LSC admins: reach out to Boostlingo Support with the affected user and the MFA type they're using. If you're unsure how to reach Support, contact your Account Manager.
