Set up school activity coops

How to setup school coops within an activity.

The state level coop system in Bound allows you to set a host and other participating schools as a coop within a specific sport or activity. Once a coop is setup, the school set at the host is the only one that can manage the activity from the admin side, however the activity will show up on the non-hosts program page under "Co-op" for Boys/Girls activities. It will also display on the public page for both participating schools (and use any special names and logos).

1. On the state association home page, click the Activities button on the left side, and then click the green button next to the specific activity.

2. Search for the school you want to be the host of the coop, click the 3 dots next to the school, and then click Edit Details in the dropdown.

3. On the Edit Details page, make sure the Host section is set to the school you searched for. Then add the other participating schools in the sections that say "Coop School", "Coop School (2)", etc.

4. If the coop has its own name, colors, and / or logo, you can add that at the bottom of the Edit Details page. Once entered, check the applicable boxes "Special Name due to Coop Schools" and / or "Special Design due to Coop Schools".

How It Works For Schools

Once this is set, here's how it will work for the schools involved.

The admin side of the activity is managed only under the Host school. It will show like any other activity on the admin side of the school.

While the activity is managed under a single school, the activity will show under a "Co-op" section on the non-hosts programs page. It will also display on the public page for each school involved. And if a coop has their own name, colors, and / or custom logo, the public page for the activity will reflect those settings. In this example, CAM is the host school, and Griswold is a participating school. FAQs

  1. Why does a boys hockey game appear on a co-op school’s admin schedule when that school is only part of the girls hockey co-op?

    • Events linked to a co-op appear on the admin side for associated programs but reflect only participating teams on public calendars.

  2. Can practices and events for co-op teams appear on both schools’ calendars?

    • Yes. Head-to-head games automatically sync to both calendars, and co-op events should include both schools as participants. When scheduling games against co-op teams, use the designated host school for the co-op. For example, a Pepin/Alma co-op is listed under Pepin. To ensure events appear on both schools’ calendars, include both schools as participants or hosts when setting up events. Additionally, check the Events page before creating new games to avoid duplicates. Events linked to a co-op may take up to a day to appear on public-facing calendars due to caching, even though they are immediately visible on the admin side.

To view next year’s schedule for a co-op sport as a non-host school:

  1. Find the program under the co-op section. Go to Programs and look for "Girls Co-op" for example:

  2. Click on the program. You can view meets, games, practices etc. on each team page.

OR:

  1. Go to the Bound website.

  2. Select your state and search for the host school.

  3. Choose the specific activity/sport and select “Seasons.”

  4. Pick the next school year to see the schedule. Non-host schools cannot display rosters, schedules, or stats for the co-op sport on their program pages. However, all events for the co-op sport appear on the non-host’s Events page and public calendar. Additionally, non-host schools see the co-op program listed on their Programs page without teams attached. This is intentional and does not affect event visibility on the Events page.
