What is Sample Data mode?
We've designed Sample Data mode to help you see the full power of Breathe right away.
By instantly populating your account with sample information, you can explore the platform's true capabilities without having to manually enter a single detail of your own.
This sample data is detailed, helping you see the system in action. It encompasses a diverse range of personal details, job roles, logged training, holidays, sickness and assigns working patterns and holiday allowances to each person.
How do I know sample data mode is turned on?
A banner will appear on your welcome page letting you know that sample data mode is enabled...
A banner will also appear at the top of all pages notifying you that you are in sample data mode...
Important: While Sample Data mode is enabled and your plan size is Starter (11-20 people) and above, you can add your own people data to your Breathe account; however, when sample data is removed, all the people data that you have added will be removed
Please note that if you have signed up to a Micro plan (up to 10 people), you will not be able to add your own people whilst in sample data mode
💡 Top Tip: We highly recommend viewing the Reports area of Breathe while Sample Data is on. Seeing those reports populated with information is the best way to understand how valuable they'll be for your business.
Removing sample data
When you are ready to remove sample data from your trial, follow these 3 steps...
Step 1: Look for the notification banner at the very top of your Breathe screen.
Step 2: On the right side of the banner, click the blue "Remove Sample Data" button.
A confirmation pop-up will appear, asking if you are sure you want to delete all sample information.
Step 3: Confirm your decision by pressing the green Yes, remove sample data button
The system will instantly and permanently remove all 10 sample people and their associated data. Once the banner disappears, your account will be empty and ready for you to add your own team's details.
Important: When sample data is removed, your Admin profile remains in your account; however, the following data from the Admin profile will be removed if it has been added whilst in sample data mode...
Leave requests, sicknesses, gender, department, division, contract type, reason for leaving, disabilities, kudos, notice periods, gender, pronoun, ethnicity, religious belief and sexual orientation.

What does ‘remove sample data’ actually delete?
When you click the button, we delete all 10 sample employees, which includes all associated data such as holiday, sickness, and training information.
We will not remove any company documents that you have added to your trial account. A full data removal list is provided below...

If I try to add my own people, can they be deleted one by one, or will the banner remain?
No, unfortunately, you are unable to delete your people one by one. When you turn off sample data mode, all data from the people you have added will be removed, along with the fictitious people from the sample data.
Who can turn off sample data?
Only the Admin user can turn off the sample data mode.
Will the Admin’s own data also be removed when sample data mode is turned off?
The administrator's account will remain in the system; however, certain data fields will be removed from their profile: Leave requests, sicknesses, gender, department, division, contract type, reason for leaving, disabilities, kudos, notice periods, gender, pronoun, ethnicity, religious belief and sexual orientation.
Can I turn the sample data mode on again after I have turned it off?
Once you have turned off sample data mode, it cannot be turned back on.
