A few helpful hints and tips to help you get the most out of Breathe when it comes to holiday:
How can my people book the odd hour off?
Your people will need to be on an hourly allowance to be able to book full days and part days.
Once they are on this they can then book a part day like this....
Set up a 3rd party recipient for holiday confirmations
When the holiday request/cancellation is approved then this triggers an email to both the employee requesting and the 3rd line confirmation recipient.
To do this is simple go to Configure > Settings > Email Notifications > Send notification of approved leave requests to and enter the email address of the person you want these to go to in the box:
Who can approve leave?
There are several people who can approve leave and it works like this,..
Holiday Approver > Line Manager > HR
The Holiday Approver will receive the leave request notification but the Line Manager and the HR can approve this if required.
If there is no Holiday Approver, this will fall to the Line Manager.
Line Manager > HR
If there is no Line Manager or your permissions are set that they cannot manage leave then this all falls with the HR Team

How can I record unpaid leave, or a different leave type?
You can create your own leave types as a form of other leave, by heading to Configure > Settings > Picklists > Other leave types > Add new > +.
As other leave does not deduct from employee's holiday allowances (like booking holiday does) you'll need to make a manual adjustment to the employee's holiday allowance if you want the leave record to deduct.

Can I set restrictions on the amount of leave taken at any one time?
It isn't possible to restrict the amount of leave taken by any one user in a request, they will be able to request leave up to their available leave allowance.
Can I restrict how many people are on leave at any given date?
Breathe does not have restrictions for leave bookings in any form, the user is able to check the Holiday calendar when booking leave to ensure there is enough availability, then upon receiving the leave request the approver is able to view the calendar once again to approve or decline the leave request based on cover.
