Sometimes a message needs to go somewhere other than the booking's contact email — a spouse handling payment, a company billing inbox, or simply the client's other address. Whenever Brindlechute opens a send window for you to review a message before it goes out, the Sent to section of that window lets you redirect it, without changing anything on the booking or the client's record.
Where the send window opens
You get a send window on any message you send by hand, on new and existing bookings alike:
Sending the invoice when you save a new booking
Confirming a booking and sending the confirmation
Resending an invoice reminder — open the booking, scroll to Payments Due, click the arrow beside View invoice, and select Resend invoice reminder
Resending a confirmation — same arrow beside View invoice, then Resend confirmation
The window is the same in each case: a preview on the left, and on the right the Sent to section along with the subject and message you can edit before sending.
Choosing where the message goes
In the send window, find the Sent to section on the right and open the To dropdown.
Choose where the message should go:
The booking client's address, marked Booking client.
Any other address saved on that client's record, marked Client's additional email.
Other address… — for an address that isn't saved on the client's record at all.
If you chose Other address…, enter the address in the Email address field that appears.
Send the message.
Note: Your choice applies to that send only. It does not change the booking's contact email, and an address entered under Other address… is not saved to the client's record. Later messages go to the booking's contact email as usual.
Which option to use
The difference is whether the message is still going to your client.
Same client, different inbox — pick their Client's additional email. If the address isn't on their record yet, adding it there makes it available on every future send. See How to Add Multiple Email Addresses to a Client.
Someone who isn't the client — use Other address…. This suits a one-time send to a spouse, an assistant, or a company billing address.
If every message for a booking should go to a different one of the client's addresses, change the booking's contact email instead of redirecting each send. See How to Set the Contact Email on a Booking.
Sending to someone as well as the client
The options above change who the message goes to. When the client should still receive it and you want someone else copied, use the Cc field below To in the same window. See How to Cc Someone on a Booking Message.
If the client has no email on file
When the booking client has no email address saved, there is nothing to choose from. Instead of the dropdown, a required Email address field appears, with a note explaining that the client doesn't have an email on file and an address is required to send. Enter an address to send the message.
To send by text message instead, see How to Send an Invoice or Confirmation via SMS Instead of Email.
