To connect Polar to Healthy Cities mobile app, please follow the steps below:
You must have an existing Polar account prior to connecting. If you do not have one, please download the official Polar app and create your account first.
For your activity data to be shared, your Polar watch must be properly paired and actively syncing with the official Polar app on your smartphone. The Healthy Cities app retrieves your data from your Polar account.
From your dashboard, select the menu bars in the top left corner
Select Settings, and then scroll down and select Device
Select Polar from the list of devices
Select Allow when prompted to give Healthy Cities access to your activity data
Sign in with your Polar account credentials.
Following a successful login, a consent screen for Polar's cookie policy will appear. You can either click Allow all to accept the default settings, or you may first customize your choices. To do this, use the toggles next to each category and then click Allow selection to confirm your preferences.
Now you will be directed to an authorization screen. Please review the terms and conditions, then click the OK button to grant permission to Terra service that helps Healthy Cities connect to your Polar.
Healthy Cities App uses Terra (https://tryterra.co/) that acts as a bridge to connect and retrieve data from Polar.
Users authentication is required for Terra API to retrieve data from wearable devices and share data with Healthy Cities App.
9. You'll now be prompted to reopen the Healthy Cities app and see a connection confirmation pop up on your screen. Select Okay to confirm.
Congratulations! Your Polar is now connected!
⚠️ Please note: It is important that native Polar App on your device is active and remains in foreground to allow successful syncing of steps with Healthy Cities App.
If your latest activity is not getting reflected in the Healthy Cities app, open and refresh the native Polar App and ensure steps are getting recorded. Post that Healthy Cities App would show your synced data too.
To prevent connection issues, please ensure your app is always updated to the latest version and that you have granted it all necessary data permissions to the app.
Currently, the integration with Polar will only sync your daily step count to the Healthy Cities app.
