Creating an Alarm

Cammy's Premises Alarm notifies you straight to your PC and mobile device when someone is detected at your premises. The premises alarm has a range of clever settings that allow you to arm and disarm your cameras based on schedules or user location.

Step 1

Head to the Settings area of your Cammy console desktop app. Under the Alarms section select "Alarms". When in the Alarms section, select "Premises Alarm".

Step 2

Select the default alarm that appears when you enter the premises alarm. When setting an alarm for the first time, the easiest way to do so is to edit the default alarm that comes as standard with Cammy.

Step 3

Select the cameras you want this alarm to monitor from the drop-down.

Step 4

Choose who to notify and how to notify users; Choose from Video Console notifications, Email, and Mobile Alerts. You can then also select a notification delay. This is the period of time you would like between receiving alerts if multiple people are detected in a short period of time.

Step 5

If you wish to have your premises armed at set times you can choose to set up a Schedule; Select the times that you would like your alarm to be armed and disarmed. You can choose these time manually or choose from the pre-set timeframes displayed such as "Weekdays 9-5". Once you have chosen when you would like your premises to be armed, select "Save Changes".

Step 6

If you would rather have your alarm automatically arm and disarm based on user locations you can choose to set up Geofence;

  • Enter the location of your premises into the location type box or click the location of your premises on the map.

  • Choose the size radius you would like your geofence alarm to follow. This is the size of the perimeter around your location which indicates where a user will need to leave for your alarm to be armed. Decreasing the radius will increase the accuracy of the geofence alarm. Once you have set your location and radius, select "Save Changes".

Step 7

If your alarm is running on either a schedule or geofence, the alarm status will show as either Armed or Disarmed and Auto. You can change the alarm status manually and override the schedule/Geofence at any point by tapping "Arm" or "Disarm". To set the alarm back to the Auto setting, tap "Auto".

FAQs when Creating an Alarm

โ“When using the Geofence setting, does the Cammy app need to be running on my mobile device at all times?

If you decide to use the geofence setting for automatically arming and disarming your alarm, we recommend leaving the Cammy Mobile app running in the background at all times. This just means that you should not "Force quit" the app. You will also need to ensure you are sharing your location with Cammy in your mobile phone settings, at all times. Both of the above apply to all users connected to the premises alarm.

โ“I am not receiving any mobile alerts from my alarm despite the alarm being armed and my video console alerts working. What is wrong?

If you are receiving alerts on the Video Console and your alarm stays is armed, it is likely that Mobile Notifications have not been allowed for Cammy within your mobile phone settings or, mobile notifications are not selected in the premises alarm settings.

  • Check within the Premises alarm settings that the notification method is set to mobile notifications.

  • Check within the mobile phone settings, that notifications are "Allowed" for Cammy.
